Set in the hills of Brooklet above Byron Bay, Astral Ridge is a private hinterland compound where the landscape does as much work as the architecture. Built for those who want the full Byron experience without sharing it with anyone.

Stage One

Astral Ridge began as a single-storey brick cottage. Stage 1, completed in May 2023, transformed the existing structure into a refined residence finished with microcement bathroom surfaces, lime-rendered walls, marble benchtops and recycled hardwood joinery. Custom aged brass hardware runs throughout. Sandstone retaining walls anchor the home into its Brooklet landscape.

Stage Two

Stage 2 added a pool house, outdoor bar and multiple dining spaces to the property. A dedicated wellness zone, comprising a gym, pilates studio, sauna and ice baths, completed the scope. The level of finish across Stage 2 matched what was established in Stage 1 and elevated from there.

The Outcome

Working closely with Tamsin Johnson's interior direction and Scott Wilson's architectural vision, Kick delivered both stages to a consistent, high standard. Every space was optimised for the experience of a private resort: generous entertaining areas that flow into the landscape, outdoor dining and bar settings designed for shared moments, and a wellness compound built for retreat. The property sits under the hinterland skies of Brooklet with views that stop people in their tracks. Intimate, considered and quietly extraordinary, Astral Ridge is the kind of place that stays with you long after you've left.
