The Renovation

Massinger Street was a full transformation of a four-bedroom timber home over eight months. Old timber homes in Byron Bay come with surprises. Kick's team worked through them without losing pace or quality, adapting to what the building revealed as the project progressed.

The Scope

The focus was to open the home up: improving flow through the main living spaces, drawing more natural light in through raked skylights and increasing connection between indoor and outdoor. New bathrooms, windows, doors, updated cladding, joinery and landscaping elevated the overall finish. A formed concrete bar and BBQ area, and a hidden wine cellar accessed through the floor, gave the home its personality. Bespoke blackbutt joinery and precise carpentry detail run throughout every room.

The Team

The project was delivered closely with Scott Wilson at Occupy Studio, Christina and Jess from We Are Triibe, and the client. Scott Wilson noted: "John's excellent communication ensured all parties were kept across the ever-evolving construction process, whilst his team of carpenters were passionate about getting the details right."
